Mona Hodgson ~*~ Author of The Sinclair Sisters of Cripple Creek Series

Two Brides Too Many by HODGSON, MONA

The Sinclair Sisters of Cripple Creek
Book One, Two Brides Too Many

It is 1895, in Portland, Maine. There are four Sinclair sisters, Kat, Nell, Ida, and Vivian. Their father is transferred with his job, necessitating the four daughters to embark on their own journeys.

As the two oldest daughters, in Book One, Kat and Nell Sinclair travel to Colorado as mail-order brides. They arrive before their letters and subsequently are not met at the railway station. They set off on their own and begin their adventure at Widow Hattie's boarding house in Cripple Creek, east of Pikes Peak.

Cripple Creek, a mining community, has been ravished by fire and the town is restoring its burned out condition. Travel along with these two sisters as they begin their lives anew.

She is looking forward to joining her sisters and holds a telegram offering an interview for a position with successful businesswoman, Mollie O'Bryan. Come along as Ida determines her career path.

It is now June, 1897, in Book Three, The Bride Wore Blue, as the four sisters finally are to be reunited. Their Aunt Alma escorts youngest sister, Vivian, on the train from Maine to Colorado to guarantee her safe arrival. Only not far from Cripple Creek, bandits run through their train car with the cash box! Vivian accidentally trips one of the two outlaws and the adventure begins. Vivian is hoping to fulfill her wish to be a successful fashion designer. This comes in handy when she is sketching details describing the thieves.

  2. This series sounds terrific. I have a soft spot for mail order bride stories. And my husband has visited Pykes Peak on one of his many overseas travels. Thanks for the reviews.
    Blessings for a wonderful weekend,
    Dotti :)
