My Review: The Shadow on the Quilt
Juliana Sutton exchanges her heart's sorrow for a new direction as her life is turned upside down. Looking outward, she finds needs beyond herself. Cass Gregory continues forward, securing the job he and other men have begun, bringing it to completion. But will it extend into his own life, as he searches, stretching forth each day with the resources he has been given?

The Shadow on the Quilt is my tribute to the women who created the Home for the Friendless in 1876; God's extraordinary women who saw a need and filled it. Extraordinary women who believed in an eternity where the word "friendless" will no longer be needed. --Stephanie Grace WhitsonI like Stephanie Whitson's novels because they show graciousness from the protagonist without making the recipients feel like they are less. May we benefit from these examples of earnest care and appreciation of others in our own lives. By her example beyond words, Juliana lives her life and others are easily able to follow. Pretty obvious how Cass can be drawn to her. I like how he looks out for the care of the other men and their families by leading and standing up for right, insuring they continue to have a job to be able to support their family.
