I love the beautiful pencil sketches by illustrator Breezy Brookshire as you first open the storybook, placed on the front and back inside covers. Such a wonderful introduction before you begin reading to be able to talk about the pictures with your young listeners to acquaint them with the characters in the book. The six drawings show different daily activities ~ Audrey Bunny having a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and milk; stirring a cake batter, with eggshells to the side on a napkin; ready for a rainy day under an umbrella, with a raincoat and rain boots on, and little Audrey Bunny tucked safe inside her jacket; the little girl drawing a picture with Audrey Bunny leaning close by; Audrey Bunny with a balloon snuggled on her arm ~ look! just tucked under the flyleaf; and a picture book on Audrey Bunny's lap ~ just like us, ready to begin!

There will be one giveaway copy of Audrey Bunny available!

Today is Caroline's birthday. She has come back to the toy store to pick out her special gift. She picks me!! I try to hide my mark over my heart. She doesn't even notice! She loves me just as I am. We have so much fun together and at the day's end, she holds me close.

Today is Show and Tell. I am going on the big, yellow bus with Caroline to her school! But wait... my mark.
"So your mother told you that if she was meant to be yours, she would still be there?" another girl asked, running her finger along the mark.
"Yes. And as soon as I saw her, I knew that she was my bunny."
   --Audrey Bunny, 28
Chosen.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.
   --Psalm 139:14

And as the sketches for each page came in, my heart would pound as I studied the face of the girl in the story. Her name is Caroline, and she has bright red hair.
   She’s about 5, I’d say.
And it was clear to me in those moments that the Lord had orchestrated all of it, and that by His grace He let me see this little girl dance and run and play dress-up with her bunny Audrey.
   And she has life.
   She has so much life…

  2. wow. I wasn't going to watch the book video, thinking that it was just about the book but it was so much more. I cried. God fashions each person for a purpose and loves them just as they are. Made me think of my Amy. I would love to read this book to my grandchildren, two of whom are redheads :)
