With five murders of young women, leads to the discovery of the serial killer are slim. Years earlier Detective Tess Villanova's best friend was murdered and an insignia imprinted on her neck. A recent corpse has the same branding, reopening the case for Detective Villanova and her newly arrived partner on the police force, Detective Logan McMillan. He has transferred to St. Augustine from Chicago. It is hoped that a fresh aspect will come to the surface as Detective McMillan looks anew at the clues left behind.
In reading the stories in the Quilts of Love series, Scraps of Evidence, a light mystery, did have a quilt that became an important part.
