Giveaway and Review! "Cooper and Me and the Military" for Children

Cooper is a fun-loving black Labrador Retriever, whose entertaining adventures help explore emotions and nurture constructive problem-solving for everyday living.
 ~*~
Created by mother-daughter team Monique and Alexa Peters, the Cooper and Me series is inspired by their real-life family dog! The newest of their four books, Cooper and Me and the Military, is a valuable tool for open communication to discuss feelings, thoughts and concerns missing loved ones far away and shares ideas for staying connected. The most important thing is to always remember that even when our loved ones aren't with us, they still love us and think of us. It's creating memories and sharing events that keep us close.

First let's visit the website for Cooper and Me  http://www.cooperandme.com/About.aspx  before we begin this story together.

Trooper joins Cooper in this book. Come and meet his new family!
As a former military dog, Trooper is loyal, honest – and you can always depend on him! Trooper is a German Shepherd who is strong and protective of his friends and family, but kind and gentle.

Here is Cooper! Join him on his adventures!
He is a mischievous, fun-loving black Labrador Retriever who loves making new friends and going on adventures with them. He is very silly and can't wait to explore new things! Cooper always offers to help anyone in need.

Now on to our story! Cooper takes his ball and his girl to the park. They meet their friends, Gracie and Joe, and their dog, Trooper. Trooper is retired from the military. He has served the troops well.  Gracie and Joe's parents bring Trooper from their military base to be their special dog! How they must miss having Trooper with them. The three friends come up with some good ideas to share together while they are apart!

This story is very nicely illustrated by a young girl named Alexa Peters. Alexa loves to draw the real-life Cooper. Non-readers will enjoy this story as they look at the drawings as you read. The words go with the pictures and what is going on will be easily memorized as you get to each page.

Stay tuned for the Cooper and Me song at the end of the six-minute video!

This is such a sweet and informative book. Asking questions while looking at the cover, "What do you think this book will be about?" and talking about words that might not be familiar, draw children in before beginning to read. After reading and discussing this story, encourage drawing a fun memory they have with someone who doesn’t live close to them. There are connection questions in the back of the book to help children name and process their own feelings about what they have read.

Cooper and Me has fun things to do while singing the song! Check it out!
